Watch the video and then ask students to follow the music and move their body
Step 2 Lead-in
1. Watch a video and answer the questions below
1. Are they going on a trip or staying at home?
2. Does Hobo really know the way?
3. Why can't they go the right way?
2. Lead Ss to read the map before going on a trip
Step 2 Presentation
Show Ss the sign, introduce directions (north; south; west; east) and the rule in geography lessons (上北下南左西右东)
Lead and encourage Ss to say the words : north-west, north-east, south-west, south-east
Use the map of Sunshine Town to introduce the direction of two places
Encourage Ss to tell the directions after the teacher
Step 4 Practice
Finish the exercises of part A on P43 and check the answers
Encourage Ss to tell the directions of the four places
Practise the way to tell directions with a picture
Step 5 Listening & Reading
1. Listen to the tape and answer the questions 1 to 2
1) Where are they going for their class trip?
2) How will they get there?
2. Listen again and answer the questions 3 to 4
3) Where is the zoo?
4) How far is Sunshine Zoo from their school?
3. Read the dialogue: repeat after the teacher, read together and then in roles

Work in pairs and talk about the trip to the other three places. Use Simon and Daniel's conversation as a model
