To use ‘be going to’ to express future jobs.
Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead in:
Free talk:
Ask students to talk about the jobs of their family members and learn some English expressions of jobs.
---How many people are there in your family?
---What is his job?/ What does he do?
---He is a policeman./a postman./an office worker.
---Where does he work?
---He works in a police station./post office./company.....
Play a guessing game: get students to look at the pictures and try to guess the jobs and the working places. Get students to read the new words.
Step 2 Activity
Get students to practice the dialogue in pairs, talking about jobs and working places.
Get students to finish Part A1 and check the answers.
Step 3 Listening I
Now,Wendy is telling Millie something about her family. What are Wendy’s parents’ jobs? Can you guess?
Let students listen and check.
Play the tape and check the answers.(play again if necessary)

By the way, you know, sometimes, the tape goes very fast, and you cannot write all the words. What can you do?(Teach the skills for listening)
Have a look at the notes, then we can know what information we want
Write down the first 2 or 3 letters while listening and complete the all after listening
Check the answers.(Listen again and stop to have the students check the answers.)
Step 4 Listening II
Play the tape again. Students do some T or F exercises.
Now Millie is taking notes about Wendy’s family. Listen again and help Millie complete her notes.
Step 5 Speak up
Well, we have known so many jobs. What are Millie’s classmates going to be in the future?
