Step 1: Lead in
Show some pictures and ask:
(1) Exchange students are coming, can you give me some ideas to welcome them?
(2) What do exchange students like?
Step 2: Fill in the blanks
Look at the pictures of part A and finish it.
(1) Practice the phrase’take...to’’
(2) Deal with part A on page 31.
Step 3: Listen and match (pair work)
(1) Ask the students to listen to the tape and match;
(2) Ask the students to work in pairs and make new conversations .
Step 4: Watch and answer
(1) Is there any food in the fridge?
(2) Where does Eddie want to buy food?
(3) What does Eddie want to do with five yuan?
Step 5: Read and perform
(1) Read the comic together;
(2) Act it out.
Step 6: Group work: A Fun Day Out
(1) Ask students to work in groups and choose one place to visit;
(2) Make a plan for the trip, use the “Plan List” and the model paragraph as examples;
(3) Ask some student to make the presentation.
