How to introduce different kinds of travelling activities in the cities

Learning analyze:

The topic of this unit is “Welcome to Sunshine Town”. In this period, we will learn how to introduce all kinds of activities in the city. We will lead students to introduce how to greet friends from other cities and countries.

Teaching procedures

Step1:Lead-in

Teacher :I’m very happy to day. My friend will come to my home tomorrow. She’s an old friend of mine. She’s one of my old friends. What can I do for her?(read:mine)

Encourage students to say some ideas!

2.Talk: Thank you for giving me so many good ideas. I think a big meal sounds great. But there’s nothing to eat in my home ,and I have no time to go shopping tomorrow. I’m going to take her to a restaurant. Which is better, Chinese food or Western food?(Someone says Western food )

That’s a good idea. I want to order a pizza and a tin of coke。

Step2:presentation

1.Listen to the tape

Eddie’s old friend is coming to visit him. What will he do for his friend?

Listen to Eddie and Hobo’s conversation then answer: How much money do they have?

They have only five yuan . Write: yuan

(设计意图:通过听对话回答问题,训练学生对话内容大意的了解。)

2.Read the comic and answer more questions;

Is there any food in the fridge?(No, there’s nothing in the fridge.)

Where does Eddie want to buy food?(He wants to go to the supermarket to buy food.)

How many tins of dog food can they buy with five yuan?(They can’t buy any.)

(4)What does Eddie want to do with five yuan?(He wants to order a pizza.)

(5)Do you think he can order a pizza? Why or why not?

3.Practise reading.Follow the tape.Read together and read in roles.

(设计意图:通过听读,训练学生语音语感。)

4.Act out the comic dialogue.(pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation)
