Step 1. Greeting
Good morning, boys and girls.
How are you today?
What’s the weather like today?
Step 2. leading in
1. Lead in good weather by greeting each other.
2. Say: It’s a fine day today, let’s plan a trip to the Moon!
Ask: What shall we use to go to the Moon? Answer: Spaceship, rocket.
Ask: What did your grandparents use if they wanted to go somewhere far far away?
Answer: Bike, bus, on foot.
Step 3. Pre-writing
Focus attention on the blackboard.
Say: Our lives are different from those in your grandparents’ teenage days.
Ask: What things that people usually used in the past are now use less frequently/not used any more? (List the objects Ss think of on the left blackboard).
Ask: What recent inventions have made our lives much easier? (List the objects Ss think of on the right blackboard).
Let the Ss list the things that used in the past and present on their own papers in 3 minutes.
