四、教学步骤
1. Lead-in with questions
What do the trainers look like?
Do they look dangerous?
How many chapters are there in the story and what are they?
【Purpose: Make Ss focus on the trainers and the story】
2. Chapter 1
Enjoy a short audio and answer some questions.
【Purpose: Test Ss’ understanding of this chapter】
3. Chapter 2
(1).Discuss how to read aloud a story well.
(2).Imitate P17-23 together with the audio in a low voice.
(3).Have an imitation competition.
【Purpose: Make Ss know the importance of imitation and imitate well】
(4)Discuss: How does the writer make it vivid?
【Purpose: Make Ss clear about the elements that help to make a vivid story 】
4. Chapter 3
(1).Analyze the script briefly
【Purpose: Make sure Ss know how to read the script and get them ready for their acting】
(2). Choose a scene to practice.
(3) Show time.
【Purpose: Give them chances to have a better understanding of this story and raise their interests in learning English】
5. Post-reading questions:
Do you like the story? Why (not)?
Do you think the trainers really came to life, or is it a dream?
What writing technique is used while describing the dream?
