Step1: Lead-in
Talk about the most amazing thing “love” in the world
Listen to the song Because You Loved Me and try to finish the lyric
Work in groups and then watch the video to check the answers
Step2: Free talk
Classify the words into different groups
Review the simple past tense of regular verbs
Step3: Work out the rules
Read the regular verbs in the lyric
Listen and repeat words in Part A
Find the rules of pronouncing “ed”
Step4: Practice
Finish Part B: write, listen and repeat
Listen to the dialogue and answer several questions
Read the dialogue in roles
Step5: Summary
Summarize the rules again and ask the students to list more regular verbs
Step6: Discussion
Use simple past tense to make up a short story with partners
Write down the story and share with other groups
VI. Homework
Learn to sing the song and finish the exercise
VII. Blackboard Design
I will write three different ways of pronouncing the -ed ending and the students will classify the words on the blackboard.
