2.Look at the pictures of the story and learn new words:
One day, Maruko and her classmates were on their way home as usual (像往常一样). Suddenly (adv.突然), they heard a whisper (n.低语) ---“hello”. They turned around (转身) but saw nothing. “Is anybody (pron.任何人) there? Nobody replied (reply vi.答复,回答). Then they heard again. They wondered (vi&vt.想知道) what it was . They searched (vt&vi.搜查,搜寻,搜索) around but there was nothing. Maruko thought she meet a ghost, so she ran away (run away逃跑,离开) quickly.One of Maruko’s classmates was so afraid. He was too weak (adj.虚弱的,无力的) to run away, so the students helped him leave (vt.离开) .In fact (事实上), the sound was from a parrot (鹦鹉) .
