Step 1 Lead-in

Ask the Ss to say out the fun facts according to the pictures

Step 2 Pre-reading

1.T: The world is full of amazing things. Today I want to show you more amazing things. Look at the pictures, ask:

1) Are there any ghosts in the world?

2) Are you afraid of ghosts?

3) Do you like reading ghost stories?

T: Today I will share a ghost story with you. First, read the title, look at the picture and answer the following questions:

1) Where did the story happen?

2) Who might see the ghost?

3) How did they feel?

T: What other aspects do you want to know about the story?

2. Check the preview. Match the words with the meanings on the right.

Step 3 While-reading

Task1 Skim the story quickly and find out the answers:

1) When did it happen?

2) Who was in the story?

Task2 Scan the story and match the main ideas

Part1 Line1—Line 7 A: Andy helped them find out the ghost.

Part2 Line8—Line 13 B: They took the little cat to the animal center.

Part3 Line14—Line 16 C: Millie and Amy heard the ghost in the park

Task3 Detail reading

1.The first part: What do you wonder about the story?

1)Read this part aloud and work in pairs to find out the answers:
