Step 1 Warming up and leading in

1.Enjoy a number song

2.Talk about numbers freely and ask some questions about numbers .

How old are you? How many students are there in you class?

What’s your favourite number ?What day is it today? What’s the date today?

Step 2 Presentation

Present the picture of zero

T: what number does it look like?

S: It looks like a zero教读单词zero

Present numbers from 1 to 90

Step 4 Play a game

Play a number game.

Say1,2,3,4 in turn. when someone meets 4. like 4,14. or the times of 4,like 4,8. please spell it instead of saying the number

Step 5 Cardinal numbers

1 .Teach students the spellings and usages of cardinal numbers :

2 .Teach Ss how to read the cardinal numbers

3 .Help them to find out the rules of reading a big number .

Pay attention!

1. 读三位以上的数词时,要在十位前加“and”, 如十位为0则在个位前加“and”,其他每三位数用”,”隔开;

2. hundred, thousand, million,

1) 当有具体数量时,不能加 “s”和 “of ”。

three hundred/ eight thousand

2) 当表示泛指数量时用以下形式:

hundreds of … thousands of… millions of,
