1. Away from danger: Natural disasters are really terrible, right? In our daily life, we not only have natural disasters but also accidents. Look! What kind of accidents is it? (car / traffic accident) What can we do to prevent it from happening? We should … (follow the rules / don’t walk on the railways) What’s happening? The building is on fire. Look! What’s that? (thick smoke) What should you do if you are in the building? (get out as soon as possible, towel, cover your mouth and nose with a wet towel) If you just walk past the building, what will you do then? (call 119)
2. Brainstorming: Actually, we have some more such kind of telephone numbers, what else do you know?
3. Part A1: Finish Part A1 and check the answers.
4. Listening tips: Class 1 Grade 8 students at Sunshine Middle School are attending a talk called “Away from danger”. Listen to the talk and help Simon complete his notes. Before listening, I have some tips for you. Tip 1. (Predict before listening, do it one by one) Tip 2 (Try to catch the main ideas and write part of words while listening for the first time)
