Step 1 Lead-in

1. Present some compound words
Show some pictures. Help the students learn the new words and expressions.
2. Get the students to know how to create compound words.
a. Show the rule
earth + quake→ earthquake
super + market → supermarket
b. Offer a tip (Sometimes we need to add a hyphen.)
north + east → north-east
ten + year + old → ten-year-old
fashion + designer→ fashion-designer
3. Divide the words
Help the students remember words by separating the compound words into two words.
4.Write as many compound words as possible
Help the students remember more words by writing compound words as many as possible.
5. Form compound words
Help the students remember more words by forming compounds words.
6. Read and match
Help the students remember new words by matching words with the rule of compound words.
