Today we are going to learn Unit 4 Wild animals Reading.

We learned many wild animals, such as tigers, bears, kangaroos…

1.First, let’s play a game called ‘guessing game’

I’ll describe one kind of animals, please tell me what it is at once.[来It is a sea animal and looks like a large fish. It is very clever and often plays some games for us in the zoo.

Yes, it’s a dolphin.

It’s a heavy wild animal with thick fur and sharp paws. It can walk upright.

Yes, it’s a bear.

It’s the king of the animal world. It has yellow fur and black stripes on its body.

Yes, it’s a tiger.

It jumps with its baby in its pocket. You can see it in Australia.

Yes, it’s a kangaroo.

It lives in China. It is black and white. Its favorite food is bamboo shoots and leaves.

Yes, it’s a giant panda.

2.Which animal do you like best? ??Why?

3. T: My favourite wild animal is very lovely. It looks like a bear. It likes eating bamboo. Most of them live in China.Can you guess what it is?

Step 2 Presentation

The Ss may guess what the teacher’s favourite wild animal is,when the Ss answer “pandas”,show the picture of pandas on the screen at once.

2. Prepare the pictures of pandas ( at birth, grow up, eating bamboo)

And explain : I like giant pandas best.Because giant pandas are very lovely, quiet and peaceful. They are beautiful black-and- white animals. Today I will show you a passa ge about a giant panda called ‘Xi Wang’.

They look like white mice when they’re born. In the beginning, they drink milk.Six months later, they begin to eat bamboo. They live mainly on bamboo.Sadly, gaint pandas face serious problems in the wild. They’re in danger. We must take action to protect them right away.

3.While explaining the pictures ,write underlined words or phrases in blackboard, then ask Ss to read them after the teacher several times, and make sure that the Ss have understood the meanings of the underlined part.
