Giant pandas live mainly on a special kind of bamboo.

As a result, pandas may not have a place to live or food to eat.

If we do nothing, soon there may be none left!

技能目标:

通过阅读有关大熊猫的文章,了解大熊猫的成长过程。

培养学生根据上下文猜测词义的能力。

情感目标:通过文章学习来增强学生保护野生动物的意识及措施。

教学重难点:

重点:掌握四会词汇、词组、句型。

难点:快速阅读找到文章的主要意思。

教学准备:有关熊猫成长过程的图片、多媒体课件、配套光盘等。

教学方法:游戏教学法、情景教学法

教学过程:

Step1: Revision

1.We have learned some wild animals. Let’s look at the pictures and guess what they are. (T show the pictures) Revise the animals:dolphin, tiger, zebra, squirrel, giant panda....

2.Lead in

T: My favourite wild animal is very lovely, It looks like a bear. It likes eating bamboo. Most of them live in China. Can you guess what it is?

【设计意图】通过猜动物名称的游戏,采用“看—说”形式复习动物名称,为自然过渡到阅读课做好铺垫。

Step2 :Presentation

1.Show the picture of a giant panda. T: What do you know about giant pandas?

2.Present the new expressions

T: They look like white mice when they’re born. In the beginning, they drink milk. The giant pandas live mainly on bamboo. And you also know that the number of giant pandas is very small because they are facing serious problems. They are in danger. Shall we take action to protect them? (Show some pictures with the words: be born, in the beginning, live mainly on, face serious problems, be in danger and take action, right away....)

【设计意图】通过呈现、讲解导入新词汇,并带领学生朗读,确保学生理解掌握新词汇,为阅读文章做好铺垫。

Step3 :Practice

1. T: Today we’re going to meet a new friend—Xi Wang, a lovely giant panda. Do you want to learn something about her? Please read the whole text and skim for the main idea of the whole text. Sometimes, we can get the main idea of the whole article from the title, the pictures and the first and last paragraph.  

2. Skim for the main idea of each paragraph.

3.Answer some questions:

(1).What does Xi Wang mean?

(2).What did she look like when she was born?

(3).What could she do when she was six months old?
