Let students read the whole article quickly, divide it into some parts and find out the main idea of each part.
Careful Reading
Ask students to read para1 carefully, finish the mind map and think about how the writer support his opinion.
Ask students to read para 2 carefully, conclude the main idea and think about the retorical skill.
Ask students to read para 3 carefully, fill in the blanks and try to guess the meaning of some phrases through pictures or videos.
Ask students to read para 4 carefully, finish the mind map and think about what we can learn from this paragraph.
Ask students to read para 5 carefully, then have a discussion with their partner: Do you think the world’s favorite language would be Chinese in 50 years? Why?
