Structure
1) How many main parts are there in this letter? (Three.)
Read loudly and know what each part is about.
Part 1: Purpose of the letter (Para 1)
Part 2: Plan (Five paragraphs. One place, one paragraph and the cost)
Part 3: Instructions (Para 7)
Add:Date; Name of receiver; Closing; Signature(s)

Ask students to find some useful expressions and conjunctions in their letter.
Step 4 Writing
T: Your cousin Peter from Hefei i s coming to visit you. It’s time for you to plan a day out for him/her and write an invitation letter to invite your classmates to go on a trip to Maanshan.
1.Show the trip plan to the students.
2.Writing
1) Discuss in groups about the plan.
2) Students write individually.
3) Edit, draft, check and rewrite.
4) Teamwork show (The reporter of each group should be made to read their letter before the whole class.)
Step 5 Summary
Students summarize what we learned today (How to write a letter to invite friends to have a trip).
Step 6 Homework
