T: So many stars! What are they doing in the program?
I think they had lots of fun in Sichuan.
2. A photo of Linda
T: This is one of the stars, Linda. She is Kitty and Daniel’s friend. She’ll take part in a show in Beijing. She has a free day. So they plan a day out for her.
Step 2 Before-Writing
1. T: Look at the plan? What’s it about? (time, place, activity)
T: After they meet at Sunshine Underground Station, how can they get to Tian’anmen Square?
So a trip plan also includes transport.
2. Questions about the trip
T: Linda has some questions, help her find the answers. Books open at P40.
Ask a student to be Linda, others answer.

a. Fill in the blanks
T: Kitty and Daniel hope their classmates can join them, so they are writing a letter to invite them, but they haven’t finished it. Let’s help them complete it according to their plan.

(1) Express the time, transport and activity in different ways
a. Express the time
T: Firstly, we can use different ways to express the time, transport and activity. For time, have a look at this table. We can say we will get to Tian’anmen Square at 7:30 a.m., and we’ll leave there at 8:30 a.m. How can we express it in different ways? Work in pairs. Write down as many sentences as possible. So we know we can use these ways to express the time. Here is the exercise. Who can do it?
b. Express the transport
T: For transport, look at this one. We can say we will go to Wangfujing Street by bus. How can we say it in some other ways? Please write down your answers in pairs. Now who can tell me your sentences? So we know we can use these ways to express the transport. Now practice. Try to use different ways.
c. Express the activity
T: For activity, we can use different verbs, such as …Now it’s your turn to practice it.
