Step 2: Pre-writing
【Activity 1】
Matching: Match James Turner’s answers with interview questions
Set a context about an interview between James Turner and a report from Lonely Planet.
The reporter asked James six questions and wrote down his answers.
But the reporter was so careless that he mixed all the answers together. Let students discuss in groups and match answers with the questions.
(They can use pad to check unfamiliar words and phrases)
设计意图:1.通过模拟采访、设置障碍的形式激发学生参与的兴趣。
2.指导学生组内讨论将答案和问题对应,能让学生初步感知访谈内容,为下
一步活动做铺垫。
3.利用pad查阅不熟悉单词和词组可以帮助学生扫清理解障碍。主动学习探索目标知识点能够加深学生的理解和掌握。

Analyze the structure of interview questions
Give three key words and guide students to find out which questions are about each part.
设计意图:引导学生分析提炼该记者采访问题的结构,从而明确从哪几部分介绍James
Turner,为接下来的采访和写作扫清障碍。

Role play (Do an interview)
Encourage students to do an interview in pairs. (Reporter and James Turner)
They can use pad to search information about interview to role play.
设计意图:1.通过角色扮演的形式能够让学生巩固练习目标知识内容,学以致用。
2.为学生创设访谈语境,能够增加语言运用的真实感和生活化。
