Step 2 Introduction
1. Read a brief introduction to the Reading Week.
2. Find out the structure: V + wh- + to do.
3. Do some exercises.
Step 3 Before the Reading Week
1. Let students know what to do before the Reading Week.
2. Read notes of two books: Gulliver’s Travels and Alice in Wonderland.
3. Work out the following three structures through many sentences:
V. + O. + Wh- + to do
V. + Wh- + n. + to do
be + adj. + Wh- + to do
4. Encourage students to use the structures to introduce the book How to make biscuits.
Step 4 During the Reading Week
1. Teach students how to borrow a book from the library.
2. Finish the dialogue on Page 55.
3. Talk about some library rules and explain the meanings of must, have to, mustn’t and don’t have to.
4. Encourage students to use must, have to, mustn’t and don’t have to to talk about school rules.
5. Let students use what we learnt to talk about an e-mail.
Step 5 Homework
1. Review the usage of “question word + to do”, “must and have to”.
2. Write an e-mail to your friend about the Reading Week.
