To enable Ss to know the structure of present perfect tense and understand its meaning;

Part 6 Teaching methods and learning methods
As we all know, the main instructional aims of learning English in middle school is to cultivate Ss’ ability of reading , listening, speaking and writing and their good sense of the English language . So in this lesson ,I’ll mainly use task-based method. I think it’s necessary for me to create proper situation for authentic communication and design a series of tasks to help Ss learn efficiently. As a result, they will be required to do individual work, pair work, group work and class work. That is to say they will learn with exploratory interest actively, independently and cooperatively.
Part 7 Teaching aids
In this class, a multi-media teaching system is needed to increase the capacity and density of class. Of course, a blackboard, a tape recorder are in need as well.
Part 8 Teaching procedures
Step 1 .Lead-in
Show some pictures of our school to get Ss to know about its past and present.
In this way, I can lead up today’s topic---past and present directly and simply. Meanwhile, Ss’ exploratory interest will be aroused.
Step 2 Presentation and practice
1.Present the past and present of our school using two pictures.
T: In the past our school was small. It means our school used to be small. But at present, it is big.
2.Present my past and present using pictures:
T:In the past, I ate a lot of meat. That means I used to eat a lot of meat. But at present, I eat a lot of vegetables.
3.Get Ss to talk about the past and present of the Ss in Beijing Sunshine Middle School according to the information in the table below:
