Step 1 Lead in
Greetings and introduce myself
Watch a short TV programme and talk about travelling. Arouse students’ interest and prepare them for the reading and listening.
Step 2 Presentation
Talk to students about where they would like to go on holiday and what activities
they like. Show some pictures to help them learn more about the places the Class1,Grade8 students would like to go to.
Review ‘sailing’
Step 3 Practice
Chain drill. Ask students to say something about their holiday plans. They should say loudly one by one.
Ask students to read what Class 1, Grade 8 students are saying about what they like to do in Part A1.
Ask students to put ticks in the correct boxes. Check the answers.
Step 4 Listening
Part A2. Ask the students to listen to a radio programme about the best times to
do the activities listed.
Play the recording. Ask students to listen carefully and put ticks in the correct boxes in the table in Part A2.
3. Play the recording again so that students can check their answers. Then check the answers.
