Ⅶ. Teaching procedures (45mins)
Step 1 Warming- up (2mins)
In the beginning of the class, ask the students: “Boys and girls, do you like travelling? I’ve been to many places before. Would you like to have a look?” After inducing students to think of different places of interest, show some pictures of different places of interest.
The purpose of the pictures is to attract students’ attention and lead in the topic.
Step 2 Lead-in (4mins)
Show pictures of different places of interest they see from the pictures and present” seaside” , “theme”, “beauty”, “direct”, “flight”, “business”and “sailing” to teach the new words.
Present a word list and ask the students to read after me again, emphasizing the vowels, syllables and stress to help them pronounce correctly.
The purpose of this step is to teach the new words and phrases in a particular context to impress the students strongly and to lead to the next period.
