Teaching Procedures:

Step1:Lead-in

1. Show students some pictures of traveling to arise their interest in the lesson.

2. Ask students to have a mini-talk about the following questions to get familiar with today’s topic.

Q1.Do you like travelling for your holiday?

Q2. Who do you often go travelling with?

2. Ask 2-3 students to show their opinions.

Step 2: Pre-writing

1. Ask students to look at the example of Kitty’s writing about her trip to Hong kong to learn about how to write a travel plan.

Q1: What can you learn from the outline of Kitty’s travel plan?

2. Ask students to complete Kitty’s article and read it aloud.

3. Analyze the structure of the article to find out the main idea of each part, the tense while writing.

Step 3: While-writing

1. Work together with students to brainstorm as much information as possible while writing the first paragraph.

2. Students discuss with each other to think about some places of interest and activities while visiting Nanjing or Beijing.

3. Ask students to list sentences and expressions about feelings.

4. Teach students some skills about writing.

Skills: learn to use transitions to connect sentences.

5. Given students 10minutes to write an article about their best holiday. And then ask some of them to present their writings before class.

6. Students read their writings to their partners to find out the grammar mistakes by themselves.

7. Students appreciate an example article to find out the good sentences.

Step 4: Post-writing

1. After students read their articles, ask them to enjoy a video about our beautiful country to understand the advantages of travelling.

Step 5: Homework

1. Recite kitty’s example writing.

2. Write an article about their best holiday.

Notes after teaching:

这一课时的属于作文教学,课时的设计着重教会学生利用时间顺序写一篇游记,同时还要教会学生运用思维导图的形式在写作前构想作文的大纲,列举和作文相关的信息和事例。本节课一开始学生能很快进入主题,跟上老师的节奏,和老师配合。后面分析例文主旨大意和细节观点时,学生们会有点困难,但是通过老师的点拨,也能很快总结出答案。后面的作文展示部分学生更是表现的很出彩。只是在课堂的时间分配部分,有点前松后紧了,例文的朗读可以省去,节奏再推进的快点, 可能效果更好。
