Step 1. Greetings
Step 2. Presentation
T: 1. Look at the picture. What are the children saying to us? (Ss: Hello.)
2. Do you often greet your teachers when you meet them? Do you often say
“thank you” when someone helped you? (Ss: Yes.)
T: If you often say “Thank you” and greet others, you have good manners.
(Show “good manners” on the blackboard.)
T: Most students in our school have good manners. Look at the pictures.
(Show “queue for your turn, obey traffic rules, leave the tap running” on the blackboard.)
Step 3. Learn and say
1. Ask students to read the phrases and pictures first and then choose the correct phrase for the picture.
Check the answers with their partners like
this:
A: Is it good manners to …?
B: Yes, it’s good manners to …
/ No, it’s bad manners to…
Learn more about some of these actions.
① When should we queue for our turn?
② What other things should / shouldn’t we do
in the library?
