Step 1: Warming-up and Leading-in
1.Enjoy a period of video about Qingming Festival. The teacher uses the pictures to show in class to make the video.
2.Discussion: What are the 24 solar terms? Show and discuss the homework about 24 solar terms, then learn the names of the 24 solar terms.
3.Guessing game: Show a poem in English. Students try to guess the name of the poem, and then recite the poem(Qingming Festival). Lead in the topic, Qingming Festival.
Step 2: Reading
Before reading
Show the topic(Qingming Festival ) and the pictures about the
topic.
While reading
Show the first picture and a question. Teacher reads the
passage and ask the students to find the answer to the question “When is Qingming Festival?”
Show the second picture and the question “What is the
meaning of the festival?” Students look for the answer by themselves.
