Step1: Lead-in: present new words and phrases
1 Show six pictures and use “We should/shouldn’t…” to review what the students learned yesterday.
2 Present the new words and match them with their meanings.
Step2: Skimming and Scanning
1 Skim the text and answer three questions.
2 Look through the text and find out seven questions.
3 Figure out four aspects of British manners.
Step3: Presentation: learn more about each part
1 Listen and answer questions about how to greet people.
2 Invite one student to read about how to start a conversation and choose the best answer.
3 Read in pair about how to behave politely in public and choose a smile/sad face for what British people do/don’t do. And then use “It’s polite/rude to …” to describe each sentence.
4 Read together and answer a question about how to behave at home
