Teaching procedures:

Step1.Free talk

Present new words.

T: What do you like doing at weekends?

S1:I like …

T: What did you do last weekend?

S2:I …

T:Do you want to know what I like doing at weekends?

Ss: Yes.

T: I like travelling. Last Saturday I went to the park with my family. But it wasn’t a pleasant trip at all. It was hot and we had to wear sunglasses to keep us (safe) from the sunshine. Then it took us a long time to park our car because we saw No parking all the way. When we finally got to the park, we saw lots of rubbish. It’s really bad of the visitors to litter everywhere. When we got near a lake, my son wanted to have a swim, however, I stopped him. There was a sign that warned us not to swim.

Step2.Pre-listening

Present some public signs, ask Ss to watch the signs and try to talk about them:

What are public signs like?

*What do the signs have on them?

*What about their colours?

2. Guess: Where can we see the signs?

4. Complete Part A3.

Step 4. Post-listening

1. Pair work

Present more signs and ask Ss to guess their meanings.
