6 groups, 5 students in each.
Students are grouped heterogeneously for language and understanding levels so that they can be provided with frequent opportunities for interaction and discussion.

Teaching Procedures & Activities:
Step1 Lead in (4’)
1. Lead in the topic by playing a short video clip about a mom and her daughter with intellectual disabilities who became a Special Olympics athlete later. The video ends with the sentence ‘Thank you mom, for fighting for our Special Olympics athletes.’ (2’)
→ A student comes to the front and gives a daily speech introducing Special Olympics and the special athletes. (2’)
→ The teacher then introduces the topic.
Today we get to learn more about the special athletes and the volunteers by reading a report.
