1 Presentation
Present pictures of the Special Olympics and ask Ss about Liu Ming’s feeling of working as a volunteer.
Present the sentence” It is fantastic to work as a volunteer.”
Present more pictures and introduce the new words:charity and donate,and Present the sentence “It is necessary to help the people in need.”
2. Practice
Present some pictures of Amy and Ss get to know Amy is helpful.
Use the sentence pattern “It is adj to do sth” to describe what Amy does for the society.
3 Work out the sentence structure
It is + adjective + to-infinitive
Step 2 It is + adjective + for … + to-infinitive
1 Presentation
Tell Ss that Amy is so helpful that she wants to be a volunteer for the Special Olympics and ry to give her some advice.
T present the example sentence first: It is important for Amy to learn English well.
Then Ss work in group to discuss and try to give Amy some advice with the sentence structure:It is + adjective + for … + to-infinitive
