Activity1. Previewing

1.Ss preview Page90-91, find the key words and phrases and write them in the paper.

2.Warm up: Lead in the topic “giving a helping hand” by making some small conversations.

Who needs help? What problems do/does…have? How can you help?

(First myself→Then children in the war→Next people in need)

T: Help is needed in our daily life. To ask for more help, we had better write a letter.

Peter also wants to write a letter to help a middle school student called XiaoWei (showing his picture in the newspaper.)

Activity2. Pre-writing

1.Learn about Peter’s plan

T: Before writing, it’s necessary for us to organize ideas.

Let’s find out how Peter organizes his ideas. He organizes from general to specific(演绎法)

2.Read and learn the structure

Listen to Peter’ letter and find its structure: Greeting—Main body (5paragraphs) — signature

Study the Main body. Underline the topic sentences and think about the main idea to each paragraph.

Para1: Introduction: Who needs help?

Para2: Xiao Wei’s information

Para3: What kind of help does Xiao Wei need?

Para4: How can we help?

Para5: Conclusion: Thanks for help

3.Answer some questions to know what to write in a letter.

Activity3. While-writing

1.To present the article from the Class7,Grade8 students. Learn to write good articles.

Pay attention to the tips:Organize the ideas in good order; Avoid mistakes like tense(时态) , subject-verb agreement(主谓一致) , collocation(搭配);Use connecting words(连词) and various sentences (多样的句型)to touch your readers deeply ;Use beautiful handwritings(书写美观);Cover all the information. (涵盖所有信息点) .

2. Pay attention to useful expressions(Page91) and choose people you want to help.
