Present some pictures and get students to talk freely.
Say, “ Have you heard of Project Hope and the Red Cross? They also help people in need. They are charities. There are many international charities around the world. Let’s learn something about them.”
Step 2. Learn charities around the world in Part A
Present the logo of each charity. Teach its name and introduce who these charities work for.
Oxfam---- It works to help people in poor countries.
ORBIS---- It helps people with eye problems around the world.
WWF ---- It protects the environment and wild animals around the world.
UNICEF---- It works to provide children with food, health and education.
Consolidation
Match the logos with the charities.
Guess the charities with part of the logos and say out the names
Ask “What kind of people do these charities work for?” Students answer by completing the sentences.
Step 3. Learn the conversation in Part B
Say, “Which charity do you want to work for? How does the charity help people in need?”
Listen to Mr. Wu and his students’ conversation and answer.
Which charity are they talking about?
How does UNICEF help people? (Put the sentences into the correct order)
Check the answers and teach new words.

Step 4. Comic strip
Ask students to guess if Eddie is willing to help the charity. Then watch the flash and check the guessing.
Read Hobo and Eddie’s dialogue and answer the following questions.

What does Hobo want Eddie to do?
What does Eddie want to do first? Why?
How far will they go?
Check the answers and explain some expressions.
