Step 1. Greetings and lead-in
1.Greet the class in everyday English.
2.Show some pictures about the sponge baby and let student describe it
Step2. Check the prevision
1.Show some new words and their explanations and let students try to read by themselves.
2.Check the answers and let Ss read these words. The teacher help them correct the pronunciation if necessary.
3.Give out some Chinese of the phrases and make Ss discuss in groups about the English expressions.
4.Let some Ss tell the English and others can help to correct if he or she makes mistakes.
5. The teacher explain something and let Ss make sentences with the phrases.
6.Read the phrase together.
Step3.Listening
Play the listening material, ask Ss to listen and finish the exercises. (choose the right answer)
2.Listen again and answer the questions. Before listening, the teacher can give Ss some directions.

Step4. Reading
1.Play the listening material and ask Ss to read after it.
2.Group work and try to translate some sentences.
3.Check the answers and give Ss some help if necessary.
4.Ask students to find out the language points in the text, and try to talk about the usage of them.
Step 5.Retell
Ask students to retell the passage with the help of the key words and phrases.
Step 6. Discussion
1.Let Ss watch some pictures of water sponges and man-made sponges and try to describe the differences to their partner.
2.Ask some students to present their ideas in class.
