Step 1Lead-in
Ask the students to watch a video about a green world and a polluted world and ask them to think about the video deeply.
After watching the video, ask the students some questions about it.
T : Did the world use to be a green world?
T : How is the world now?
T: Why is our world like this now?
T: We should have a green world!

Step 2 Presentation
Introduce this unit – a green world and ask students to think about the “green” here.
T: Today let’s learn Unit 8 A green world. Here, what’s the meaning of “green”? Is the “green” just a kind of colour like red, black or white?
T: Here “green” means to protect nature and to be friendly to our environment.
T: To have a green world, we need to live a green life.
Ask the students to choose which one is the green life and why.
T: You must know a lot about the green life. Look at the two pictures, which one is a green way?
T: Yes, the right one. Because it can save water.
What can we do to save water?
T: We can save water by turning off the tap.
Remember the usage of “by doing sth”.
Ask the students to think about what we can do to change air pollution and teach new words and phrases reduce, wise, choose public transport etc.
T: In cities, there is too much air pollution because of too many cars. How can we do to change that?
T: What’s more, we can protect the environment by using the waste again. That means we can recycle.
