Step 1. Lead in

Watch a video about saving the rain forests and protecting the earth to lead to the subject “ A green world”.(Ask some questions before watching it.)

Q: What have you seen in the video? What has happened to the forests and animals in the video?

Who caused all these? S: Humans.

eg. Human pollution has led to global warming.

导入过渡语：It used to be a green world. But now it has changed, we should do something to save it. So today will learn Unit 8 A green world, we will learn about some ways to live a green world.

Q: What should we do to save the world first? Ss: Plant trees!(呈现植树的图片)

T: What are they doing? Ss: They are planting trees.

T: Yes. They are digging to plant trees. What does “dig” mean?

Ss: 挖（看图可明显得到答案）（板书： dig-dug-dug）

Step 2. Presentation

1. Present a picture and ask the students to guess: What is Hobo going to do?

There is a tool in his hand（a trowel）, so I think it’s easy to guess. Maybe he is going to plant trees.

2. T: Do you want to know more about Hobo and Eddie? Let’s listen and then fill in the form.(Reading the questions before listening, maybe Ss can guess some questions!)
