教学过程：
Step 1 呈现：
教师呈现漫画部分小铲子的图片，问学生：Look, I have a trowel, what can we use it to do?学生边回答教师边板书：To dig holes.
教师告诉学生：Hobo is going to dig holes, do you know why? Let’s find out the answer together.
教师播放录音，要求学生听录音回答问题：Hobo will plant trees.
教师再次播放录音，要求学生跟读，并回答更多问题：
（1）Why does Hobo want to plant more trees?
（2）Does Eddie want to go with Hobo?
（3）What does Eddie want to plant?
Step 2 操练：
指导学生跟录音集体朗读。教师说：Listen to the tape and follow in chorus. Pay attention to your pronunciation and intonation.
将全班分成两大组进行角色朗读。教师说：These two terms will read Eddie’s part and these two will read Hobo’s part.启发学生有感情地朗读，从音色，节奏，速度等方面进行设计。
Step 3 活动：
组织学生同桌分角色有感情地朗读对话，并设计符合漫画内容的面部表情和肢体语言，教师说：Work in pairs and read the conversation between Eddie and Hobo,, you can add your own ideas.
选几组不同层次的学生进行展示。
对能力较强的学生，鼓励他们根据所给的情境，发挥自己的想象，自由对话。
Step 3 操练：
教师说：Living a green life is helpful for protecting the envirnment. Mr Wu and the students are talking zbout it.
播放录音，让学生跟读并理解B部分的对话，找出对话中谈到的保护环境的常见的措施：
take the underground to school
choose public transport, ride bike
take shorter showers to save water
turn off the lights when we leave a room
学生四人一组进行对话练习。教师说：Do you know how to live a green life? Discuss it in groups of four.
在学生讨论的过程中，教师巡视，适时提供帮助。
选几组不同层次的学生上台表演，并在表演结束后给予鼓励和表扬。
