Step 1 Before-reading
Before class, play a video of Switzerland Town.
Lead the students to read the new words and present the Chinese meanings.
Check whether the students have known the new words. Get them to match the six words with their meanings.

T: Before class, we watched a video. Which country does the video talk about?
2. Free talk
T: What do you think of when we talk about Switzerland?
Show some famous things or places in Switzerland.

Step 2 Pre-reading
Go on to ask the students: Then do you want to know more this country?
The students will answer: Yes.
T: Ok. Please enjoy some pictures,then tell me what Switzerland is like.
After the students describe Switzerland,
T: We often call Switzerland “Green Switzerland”?
T: According to the study of Yale University, Switzerland is the second greenest country in the world.
Ask the students: Do you want to keep it that way? The students will answer: Yes.
T: Why do we call it “Green Switzerland”? How can it be green? Get the students to predict what the text we are going to learn will talk about.

Step 2 While-reading
1. Get the students to read the text quickly and find out: When is World Environment Day?

3. Skim- fast reading
Get the students to skim the p assage and find out the main idea of each paragraph.
