Pre-reading Introduce myself to the students.

Ask students a question: What has our city done to protect the environment in our daily life?

Show a model of Classification dustbin to the students and ask them if they know the recyclable waste and not-recyclable waste.

4.Show a video of Switzerland to the students and let students guess which country it is then lead in the reading text.Practice greetings with the teacher.

Answer the question.

4.Enjoy the video and guess which country it is.Arouse the students’ interests in this text.

Step 2

While-reading

Ask students to skim the text and answer the question:“When is World Environment Day?”

Ask students to finish the exercises B1, if they don’t the meanings of some words, they can talk with their desk mates, then check the answers with all class.

Ask students to scan the text again, then do the match - find the main points of the paragraphs.

Ask students to read Paragraph1 together and ask the questions:1). What is Switzerland like? 2). What do people there try to do?

Play the tape of the Paragraph 2,3,4 and ask students to read each paragraph by themselves ,then do different exercises.

Read the Paragraph 5 together and ask one question:“Why did Martina write the article on her blog?”

Skim the text and answer the question.

Discuss and do the exercises.

Scan the text and do the match exercises.
