Teaching procedures:
Step 1: Lead in
Through the revision of Unit 8 Reading A Green Switzerland, students get some ways to g green. Step 2.Brainstorm
Students discuss in groups to find ways to go green from the following aspects:1. save water 2.save power 3.reduce pollution 4.live a green lifestyle.
Step 3.Presentation
Get to know the notes on Page118 according to the pictures and be familiar with new words
Finish Millie’s script with the notes on P119 and lead students to analyze the structure and do some exercises while checking the answer.
The exercises they need to do include:
Finding topic sentences of each part.
Using transitional words to connect many short sentences.
Expressing the same idea in different ways.
Comparing the active tense with passive voice.
Step 4.Writing
Give some introductions like tomorrow is World Environment Day and useful expressions.
Ask students to write a script on how to go green.
Step6. Assessing
Pair work
Discuss with the partner and help improve each other’s writing according to the assessing sheet.
Presentation
Ask students to take a photo of their writing and send it to the teacher.
invite students to read their own writing in front of the whole class and assess their writing by asking some questions like Is the writing about how to go green?Does it have a clear structure? Which sentences do you like and why?
