Activity One: Lead-in

Watch a video and sing the “colour song” , try to ask the students to say what things the singer likes.

Activity Two: Welcome to the unit

Step 1

1.Show them some pictures about colors they have learned to review the expressions of different colors and learn to the words “indigo”and “violet”.

2.Ask students to list some colorful things that they can see during their daily lives (the Olympic rings, ice cream, the world map and so on).And then let the students guess “what it is”.Show the picture of a rainbow to them and ask: What can you see a rainbow? How many colours are there in a rainbow? What’s their order?

3.With the above questions,the teachers and students talk about the colours of a rainbow together.

4. Give the correct order in a rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green ,blue, indigo and violet.and draw a rainbow on their worksheets.
