Step 1: Lead-in
Have a free talk about colors by asking students:
“What’s your favourite color? Do you know anything interesting about colors? Do you think that colors can influence our moods？”Then say to the ss, “We will learn colors and moods today”.
Step 2: Pre-task
Students can be divided into 4 groups. If one of each group can answer the question correctly, his or her group can get 1 score .At last ,let’s see which group can get the most scores ,and the group whose scores are the most will be the winners.
Tell students that different colors can give people different feelings. Let students enjoy a series of pictures, including different kinds of colors and let students discuss after skimming the passage: What kind of colors are mentioned?
Step 3: While-task
Task1Scan the passage and answer the question: What does each color represent?
Task1: Learn about calm colors
Blue & white can make people calm and peaceful. Blue can also represent sadness and white is the colour of purity.
Task2 Learn about warm colors
Yellow and orange make you feel warm, happy and contented. Orange represents joy while yellow
is the colour of wisdom.

Green makes you feel energetic. It represents new life and growth.
