Teaching steps
Step 1 Lead-in
1. Have a free talk.
2. Show some pictures to the students to learn some new words.
Step 2 Listening
1. Ask the students to read the phrases in Part A1.
2. Listen to Nara’s information and put a tick in the correct boxes below.
3. Try to introduce Nora’s problem with the information in Part A1.
4. Look through the notes in Part A2, try to fill in the blanks as many as they can.
5. Listen to the tape twice and fill in the rest of the blanks.
6. Check the answers together.
7. Let two students introduce Mr. Friend’s advice in their own words.
Step 3 Brainstorming
1. Let the students complete the table about the problems they may have.
2. Get the students to say out their problems one by one.
Step 4 Activities
1. Work in pairs.
Share their problems with their deskmate, and then give suggestions.
2. Ask some pairs to show their conversations.
3. Work in groups.
Show some pictures about teenage problems. Talk about how to deal with the problems and what are the useful ways to deal with problems in groups.
