Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead-in
Show personal photos to give an introduction.
Talk with students about some ways to learn about the world.
Step 2 Learn the comic strip
Watch a video and find out what Eddie worries about.
Read and answer the questions. Read the comic strips.
Give students a chance to act the dialogue out.
Step 3 Learn different ways to learn about the world
1.Brainstorming.
2..Listen to the tape carefully and try to finish the chart while listening.
3.Sum up.Try to consolidate the sentences they have learned just now.
Step 4 Do a questionnaire
Boys and girls tick the way they like to learn about the world.
Step5 Discussion
Divide the students into different groups. Each group finds the three most popular ways in the group and think of reasons.
Give a report.
Step 6 Pair work
Ask the students to talk about their favourite ways to learn about the world and the reasons.
Give them some useful expressions and work in pairs.
Step 7 Have a further discussion about growing up
