Step2. Presentation

Ask students to read the comic strip and find out two questions.

1). What is a detective?

2). What did Eddie look for?

2. Check the answer.

(Students read the dialogue between Eddie and Hobo, then the teacher encourage them to underline some key words.

LOOK FOR, CLUES , SOMETHING IMPORTANT)

3.Then inspire Ss to speak out some famous detectives. E.g. Bao Zheng, Di Renjie, Cona and Holmes. Ask them to pay attention to these detectives, and find out similarity qualities among them.

Step3. Practice

Students practice being a detective according to the book.

Show time: imitate policeman to ask and answer

Step4. Presentation

1.Ask students to guess the murderer from the material we’ve got.

2.read the notes again to look for more details.

3.Practice Ss’ memory about suspects’ information

Step5. A game

Discuss in groups: in their opinion, who is the murderer?

Step6. Summary

Step7. Ask for creating a harmony society( inspire Ss to answer : farmer, worker, cook etc. )

Practice reading the dialogue in pairs

Encourage students to

Speak out qualities: calm, patient, hard-working etc.

Find out four suspects’ names and guess: Who is the murderer?

Sth. About Job, Live in, Last Saturday

Such as: appearance, personality

Show Time

Check out the guiding case and the preview.

Then ask five Ss in each group to write them on the Bb.
