Watch a video about Neil Armstrong.
Step 1 Presentation
1. Guessing game
T: I’m not a great person. I’m an ordinary person. But do you know me well?
Let’s play a guessing game.
(Show the timeline and ask the students to guess the events.)
2. Leading in
T: Do you know any famous astronauts?
(Show photos of Yang Liwei and Neil Armstrong, the first Chinese astronaut in space and the first man to walk on the Moon.)

1. Read and make a timeline about Neil Armstrong
Read and find out the time about Neil Armstrong and make a timeline. Please write down the years about him.
2. Careful reading:
Read the article again and find out what happened to him in those years.
3. Discussion:
Divide the years into three parts: Early years; Pilot years; Astronaut years
