Part A Marie Curie
Step1 Lead-in
Ask: What kind of people are great?
(Have a discussion for one minute.)
Present the answers on the screen and read together.
Watch the video and play a game: While watching, please write down their names as many as possible. After watching, try to tell their names.

Step2 presentation
T: Today one of them is here in our class. Ask: Who is he? What is he?
Introduce Einstein and ask a question : Who was the cleverest woman scientist in the 20th century?
Introduce Marie Curie and her lifetime, meanwhile, learn some new words and phrases in the text, try to read and learn.
Ask students to read Part A1 carefully and then ask and answer some questions:
1. Where was Marie Curie born?
2. What did she study in France?
3. What did she discover in 1898?
4. How many times did she win the Nobel Prize?

Step3 practice
Tell students they can complete some of the notes by reading the recording about Marie Curie. Tell them to read carefully and have a discussion.

Skill 2:Before listening, you can predict some information.
Skill 3:While listening, you can write down parts of the words only.
Ask one student to come to the blackboard to write down the answers.
2.Listen again and try to help Millie complete her report.
