Step 1 Leading in
Show some pictures about what a robot can do for us to the students. The pictures are:
T: Hello, boys and girls. Welcome to the new topic: Robots. Are you interested in them? Firstly, I’d like you to tell me what robots can do for us in our daily life.
Step 2 Talking about robots
1. Have you seen robots in the films?
2. What kind of robots do you know?
3. Do you like robots? Why?
4. What do you think robots can do for you?
5. Would you buy a robot in the future? Why?
Step 3 Welcome to the unit
1. The purpose of this part is to tell students the knowledge about robots. Ask one student to read the phrases a-d on P37. Make sure that all students understand the meanings of the phrases such as ‘‘do dangerous jobs, explore outer space, etc”.
2. Explain the context Daniel is explaining to Amy what robots can do. Ask students to underline the things that robot can do for us on their own.
3. Ask two students to read the conversation and check mistakes.
4. Encourage students to talk about the robots according to the pictures.

1. Listen to the tape for the first time to learn the main idea of Comic strip.
