本节课是这单元的第六课时，前面学生已经对机器人有所了解。为了避免这堂课的枯燥，激起学生的兴趣，我设计了Eddie 和Hobo 去美国参加机器人展览，从而遇到的英式英语与美式英语的不同，开启学习之旅！
【教学活动】
Step One: Lead-in
In the UK
1.Eddie and Hobo received a letter.
2.Read the letter quickly and asked:
① What are they invited to do?
② Where will the robot show be held?
Step Two: Differences in pronunciation
At the airport
1.How to read “advertisement ”in British English and American English.
2.Learn how to pronounce vowel-a, vowel-o,consonant-r in British English and American English.
Step Three: Differences in Spelling
In the street
1.Eddie and Hobo saw some spelling mistakes, such as neighbor, color…
2.Get to learn there are differences in spelling.
-mme/m ; -lle/-l ; -gue/-g ; -our/-or; -re/-er
3.Read and spell these words.
Step Four: Differences in vocabulary
At Times Square
1.Eddied and Hobo didn’t find the robot show because they got to the wrong floor.
the first floor-the ground floor,
the second floor- the first floor…
2.Watch a video about the diffenences in vocabulary.
3.Complete the table.
4.Work in pairs.
One say British English, and the other say American English.
5.Have a competition.
If you know the word, just stand up and say it loudly.
