1.Present the new words: sing, swim, dance, draw, play chess, speak English, play the guitar. Show Ss the pictures and help Ss to understand the new words. Help them to say what the person is doing in the picture. Ask Ss to read the new words, and make sure that everyone can understand the meanings and read them correctly. Then use the new words to ask Ss questions. T: Can you dance/swim/sing/draw/play chess/speak English/play the guitar? S: Yes, I can./No I can’t. 2. Work on 1a
(1) Match the activities with the people in the picture.
(2) Talk about the picture with Ss using the target language. T: Can “a” speak English? S: Yes, she can.

Step 6 Drill :Show the pictures as quickly as possible. Let Ss say the new words. Then use the new words to make small conversations. T: Let’s play a game. Please say the new words as quickly as you can. Then make a conversation using the words, like this:
