Before reading
1Show some pictures about the activities: art festival, soccer game, book sale, school trip, party, School Day, English day, Sport Day. And then, ask the students to say their Chinese meanings. Make sure students know the meanings.

Give students an example about the conversation.
Ask several pairs to make their own conversation and show to class.
3Memory test
Show a picture and ask students to speak out all the activities.
While reading
1Give students’ time to read the passage and answer the question: What does the article talk about?
2 Show the “skimming” questions to students, and ask them to answer
3 Show the “Careful reading” questions to students, give students time to answer them out.
4 Finish the form on the book, and check together.
5 Show the reading strategy to students.
After reading
1Read the article again, and fill in the blanks the teacher gives
2Ask students to retell the article according to the form in the book.
