This activity can cheer students up and arouse their interest in learning the new words.

Step 2 Presentation& Practice

Presentation 1

Learn new words.

Show the class schedule to the students, and lead students to learn the new words: This is Monday/ Tuesday/ Wednesday / Thursday/ Friday/ Saturday / Sunday .We have math at 8:05 A.M. on Monday.We have art at 3:00 P.M on Tuesday.We are very busy from Monday to Friday. But we are free on Saturday and Sunday.

Brainstorm

Ask students the question: What's your favorite teacher/ food/ subject/ singer...? Why? Why not? Collect as many descriptions as we can, and teach the new words: cool and free.

Why? Why not?This activity can review the descriptions ss have learned, teach the new words and make ss know the meanings of the word.

Practice 1

Finish Section B 1a and 1b.

Presentation 2

Ask Ss questions about the schedule in 3c:What classes does David have on Monday? What classes does David have on the morning of Tuesday? ...

These questions can help students get familiar with the schedule.

Practice 2

Listen and finish 1c.

Listen again and check T or F.

Listen again and fill in the blanks.

Step 3 Production

Just now we listened to a conversation about David. Fill in the blanks in 1d and practice the dialogue with your partner.

Group work: Interview your group mates and report it to your class.
